Our Story
They began reimagining much-loved Bible stories as beautifully illustrated books that feel warm, lasting and made to be kept, books to read at bedtime, return to again and again, and one day pass on.
REX is Latin for “king” - a simple name that points to the King at the heart of every story.
Their hope is that each REX book will offer a gentle introduction to God’s word, become a treasured part of childhood and be passed from one generation to the next.
REX began with a love of beautiful books, enduring stories and a belief that the words of the Bible should be treasured from the very beginning.
Nelissa and Lydia met through church, where conversations about faith, creativity and children’s books gradually grew into REX. Inspired by Nelissa’s newfound faith and Lydia’s gift for illustration, they set out to create something meaningful together.
Nelissa is the writer and founder of REX. Inspired by her newfound faith, her family and a growing love of exploring the Bible in all its beauty, she created REX to share its timeless stories in a way that feels warm, imaginative and made to be treasured.
